Mateo Rendon Reyes Resident of Hayward, CA Mateo Reyes died peacefully on October 14, 2011. He was 91. Mr. Reyes resided in Hayward for over 67 years. He was born in Brackettville, Texas and was raised in that area. He married Julia, his sweetheart, had two sons and decided to move to California where he had two daughters. He worked in agriculture in San Jose and Hayward and then worked at Holly Sugar in Union City. He retired as an oiler, after 31 years, from FMC Chemical Plant in Newark. He will be remembered as a hard worker, a family man, always with a helping hand, and a very friendly man with a bit of fun in his life. He is survived by his children: two daughters, Eleanor Sisneroz of Modesto and Sandy Fairless of Hayward; two sons, Gilbert Reyes of Hayward and Ernest Reyes of Newark; one brother, Ramon Reyes of Texas, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; eleven grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. Visitation at Union City Apostolic Church, 33700 Alavarado-Niles Road, will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 7 p.m. A graveside service at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Boulevard, Hayward, will be held on Wednesday, October 19th at 10 a.m.
