Kenneth Lloyd Dickerson Resident of Castro Valley, CA June 5, 1943 - Oct. 28, 2011 Ken Dickerson passed away early Friday morning as a result of ILD (Interstitial Lung Disease). Ken was born in Oakland, California and attended Manzanita Grammar School, Hamilton Jr. High, Fremont High School and Biola University. He was a long time employee of the Alameda County Public Works Dept, as a bridge painter and bridge mechanic. He enjoyed fishing, camping, biking, church work and spending time with his grandchildren. Ken is survived by his wife of 47 years, Anna Ray; his children Alana Koski of Danville, Candice Randall of San Lorenzo, Stephen Dickerson of Castro Valley, David Dickerson of Castro Valley and 7 adoring grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Jeanette of Fremont. He will be remembered by all who knew him as the man who was not afraid to share his faith. Many people have one of the thousands of silver Bible verse coins he passed out. His generous and fun-loving spirit will be missed by all. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of his life on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward; Viewing 1:00, Service 1:30, Burial 3:00. Reception to follow at the Castro Valley Church of the Nazarene located at 19230 Lake Chabot Road. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Castro Valley Church of the Nazarene (510-581-8377), to fulfill Ken's desire to replace the cross on top of the church.
